Questions : Will my carpets shrink?
Your carpets should never shrink if they are cleaned by a professional. Some types of carpet, for example belgian wiltons, are prone to shrinkage due to the construction. A competent carpet cleaner will spot this and take precautions to ensure no shrinkage occurs while cleaning.

Questions : How long do carpets take to dry after cleaning?
If your carpet cleaner uses appropriate equipment and machinery your carpets should not take longer than 8 hours to dry. With household appliances carpets can take up to 2 days to dry so make sure your tradesman uses the proper equipment.

Questions : Are the chemicals safe for pets and children?
There are carpet cleaning chemicals on the market that are safe for human consumption. That's right, you can eat them. Not that we recommend doing this, however a professional will use the safest most appropriate chemicals for your situation. Ask your carpet cleaner which chemicals they intend to use and look them up. All the material safety data sheets have to be available by law.

Questions : Does carpet cleaning make the carpets get dirty quicker?

A professional carpet cleaner, using the appropriate machinery and chemicals would never leave enough residue on your carpet to accelerate re-soiling. In the past, chemicals were not as refined, and machinery not as powerful and this could lead to sticky residues left behind that attract dust and dirt. Professional cleaning avoids this.
